FAQs

What is Occupational Therapy?

Pediatric Occupational Therapy focuses on helping children develop, improve and maintain skills needed for:

  • daily living (i.e.feeding, dressing, toileting, sleep)

  • school (i.e. peer relations, attention, handwriting, organization, fine motor)

  • play (the most important occupation of a child!)

At Annie’s Pediatric Occupational Therapy Group, we use the Occupational Therapy Practice Framework (OTPF) to guide the way we support your child’s development. The OTPF is a professional model used by occupational therapists across the country to understand the whole child—not just their challenges, but their strengths, environment, routines, and goals.

What Does That Mean for Your Child?

We look at how your child participates in everyday activities, like:

  • Playing with peers

  • Getting dressed and ready for the day

  • Eating meals with family

  • Using school tools like pencils and scissors

  • Following routines at home or daycare

  • Handling big feelings and staying focused

Our goal is to help your child be as independent, confident, and comfortable as possible in these daily activities—what we call “occupations.”

At Annie’s Pediatric Occupational Therapy Group we use everyday activities and play-based approaches to help children achieve their goals!
